I Am Who I Am

“What is written without effort is generally read without pleasure – Samuel Johnson”

ABOUT MEEEeeeeeeeeeEEEEeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEee!!

Assalamualaikum and a very good day to all of you guys ! First of all, allow me to introduce myself and hoping that you guys will get to know me better, perhaps…hmmm. Alright, let’s begin, shall we? I’m being named by my lovely parents as Muhammad Syafiq Farhan Boo b. Omar Boo and people like to call me as Farhan. I love my own name as it is very unique in my own perspective and it is very long as you can see. I’m mixed of Chinese and Malay as my father is a converted Chinese Muslim while my mother is a pure Malay. I just turned 20 2 days ago and I guess it would be a new journey and new experiences as well as the term ‘teenage’ has left me, like forever. Besides, I was born in Malaysia and I have to admit that this nation never fails to impress me with it’s own uniqueness and I really love the environment here . On top of that, I am currently studying B.Ed Teaching English of a second language in a superb and awesome university called Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). So, why is it awesome as being stated by me? Well, it is the only top university that has the researches about the plantation and also the campus is currently supporting and organizing a very creative campaign named ‘Green Campus’.
Alright! Enough bragging about my awesome university, I would like to proceed more about myself. The reason why I am taking TESL as my main course to study is because I have the dream, passion and motivation to become a successful educator in the near future. Being an educator is like a noble yet challenging task for me. Truthfully, I wanted to become an educator, but before I had decided to take TESL, I was actually confused of which subject should I teach if I want to become a teacher or an educator. Well, finally the decision came in my mind as I took foundation in TESL after I finished up my secondary education and right now, I am in UPM pursuing my Bachelor Degree. The main reason why educator became my choice is simply because I am doing this for the sake of the people and also the nation, whereby I would like encourage and instill the value of appreciating knowledge and also to uplift the competence level of English usage amongst the fellow Malaysians especially all of the students in every degree and level. I have to admit that it is not an easy task, this challenge needs time, effort, passion and self motivation before we can encourage other people to assist us to make it into a reality. Therefore, before I can be an educator, I need to fill up myself with a great deal of knowledge and experiences first, just as the saying goes “experience is the best teacher” !

Indeed, for me =)

Moving on to the first experience ever that I have ever encountered with computer, I remembered that I like to draw things for fun by using a software called paint. I am sure that you guys have ever at least heard of it or maybe used it as I did, drawing things for fun, ahaa! It was so much fun back then as that was my first experience of using computer…I was like 6 or 7 that time? I am not sure but it is around that ages. Computer has indeed become one of the most priority electronic gadgets as it is being used widely all over the world for various purposes such as in business field, administration, educational field and researches. After I have learned to use computer properly, it is a very beneficial and giving a number of advantage to solve many problems and also to entertain ourselves during leisure hours. For a student like me, having a computer to assist me finishing up all my assignments is undoubtedly convenient enough and a part of that, I also enjoy myself by watching videos, surfing the internet and having conversations with my friends on the social network when I am free. Inevitable, computed is one of the major and prior need for human being.

Real life paint…not very skillful in using this…

Artificial paint, in the computer basically, clean and free ~ try it

I think that’s all for my very first post in this beautiful blog of mine, thank you very much for reading =) keep in touch and goodbye!

  1. Hi Farhan,

Thanks so much for introducing yourself. It is so refreshing to learn about your aspiration to be a teacher. teaching, as you said, is indeed a noble profession,--but it is very challenging. Not only to you, but to whomever who call themselves teachers. I am glad that you are taking this path, and I am sure that you will be a great teacher in the future!
